Server 1 Maps

Postby Rogan » Sat Oct 29, 2005 1:19 am

currently these maps are available on server one.
http://www.e-bidx.com/custompc/packs/CPC-Map-pack.rar has all the maps you need I think. :$

I got all the latest ones from http://csm2.net/ and didnt download anything that wasnt an oblective based map or below a 4 out of 5 rating. Some of them actually look pretty good. :0

I'll supplement the mapcycle with the better ones. Maps that are being added to standard mapcycle are in bold.

Maps we've tried so far are:

Coldfusion - good map

Bunker attack V2 - ugly but might be fun to play (bombsites pointlessly close to one another though

cs_exile - fucking awful nav - might be a fun TDM map, though lots of things to hide around and lots of CQB

Avril - one of those dirty fps maps

galleria - good nav - looks like a fun, interesting map

kismayo - good nav - looks like a very playable map - pretty

cuzco - excellent map - missing a couple of textures.

dracula - good nav - interesting play - lags in places - crap sounds

crap yard - low fps - gameplay deathmatchy - a bit crap really

maya - good fps - interesting map - good gameplay

rookgaard - nasty fps - not much fun

industrial sea assault -low fps - reasonable play

storage - good fps - way too dark - gamplay not too good

de_hydroplant - good fps - big map - gamplay can be slow and bad for awps - enjoyable map overall

cs_underground_hold - missing textures - stoofer and ammeh kept getting stuck - fun firefights - nav could be better

de_velvet_east - good fps and graphics - large - great fun

cs_urban_v2 - good fps + gfx - interesting (great for zombie)

de_storage - too dark - too small

fy_48th - good fps - cool gfx? - more paintball than fy - no objective

ad_egon_world - good fps - big -fun

de_western_story - good map!

de_knight - interesting firefights - reasonable fps - very nice map

429 megs worth

And I have to upload to two servers so that people can use the webdownload. Actually, even the fucking massive ones don't take long when you're downloading them at a meg a second. :p

Uploading them at 50Kb/s .... twice .... is a different matter - six hours it took me. :p

looks like theres a good selection there, i enjoyed de_kismayo and de_velvet_east the most out of the ones i played tonight, the rest all had enough bad points to mean id think twice about putting them in a rotation.

I'll be making a much smaller pack with only the needed maps later. But there are still a few more maps to test then doublecheck. ^_^

Copy them to the GMail drive as well?
