Our leader here is the indefatigable L0rdy! I'm just adding the first edit because that's the kind of person I am. This is where we co-ordinate our mighty super-galaxy-conquering war machine.
It starts with love for foliage and ends in camouflage
Something wicked this way comes...

Yay a war council!!!

At least with this game, the rank structure is a hell of a lot more organised: Create a new rank and assign it any privilledges you like. easy.

First up we have the mighty Grandmaster Funk - assigned all rights (except for disband alliance as it's so bloody easy to accidentaly do, I've almost done it twice!). Members of this uber cool leage of Generals are:

Agema
Mage
Feroxy
Sole
Opti
Myself

Next up is the trusted Masters of Funk which so far is everyone else as they are our clan members / NW members / IRC buddies.

This leaves Funk Brother for anyone unfamiliar from the ogame community who'd like to jump into hyperspace with us.

On the subject of ranks, it's pretty much what you can and cant do with the alliance (process apps, kick ppl and basicly spy). Other than that theres no tying players to a specific commander nw style. Everyones free to send a circular message which can go to all or a selected rank.

And to really confuse things some ranks are equal to other for instance Opti rather chose the rank of Paranid Elite so this was created and is the same as Grandmaster Funk; Hutz the Master of Funk prefered Baton Twirler....

SO for now it's pretty much build and develop - there'll come a time when you get raided and your fleet and defences wiped out, your resources plundered - you'll be thankfull then that your decent mine output will have you back on your feet in no time.

At least in the beginning. I have played for a week soon, and all weaponry I have so far is one rocket launcher and one light laser. Mind you, these are stationary defense things. I have absolutely no ships yet, which makes raids completely impossible ;)

Pretty much so Elim, when you send a fleet out it takes several hours to reach it's destination. Any function is automated once the fleet arrives as you program this to begin with along with it's speed.

Think of yourself more as a commander managing an automated empire whereas in NW you had to actively participate.

Attack someone in a kamikaze kind of way? :)

Or just let it hang there, attacking incoming espionage probes and such.

The best site i found so far for newbie info is the wiki:
http://ogame.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

The forums posted above present more of sparse good advices to interdemidiate and advance players.

I would also like to sugest some new info for our Alliance page like:
- Every member of the Alliance will obey to the Grandmasters
- Every member is treated and protected equally
- All players help each other
- Try to participate at the Forums, an united Alliance is an Winning Alliance
- Never attack a player inside an Alliance (inactive or not), without asking the Grandmaster first. (this doesnt include 1 member alliances)
- Feel free to attack any innactive, try to aim for people with both i ´s. Try to avoid attacking Actives in the beggining, and please dont bully people around.
- We welcome any newcomers, but we wont hesitate to kick people that dont obey the rules.

Please people add your comments, correct my poor english, and lets put this up.

Also im gonna put myself back to grandmaster to avoid confusions, and lets try to do it so for most classes? opinions??

Whoever processes an application could simply pm the player the membership rules. This would free up space on our homepage for more propaganda, which we could use some ideas for. When rogz manages to create an account he might be in the mood for writing or he might not.

suggestions for ranks then plz, based on what theme we play on.

Welcome to the ogame branch of Invisible Danger. While you are an alliance member there are a number of expectations made of you:

Keep communications with other players respectful and do try to inject a touch of humor into any situation. Bullying and phobic remarks will not be tollerated.

Personal raiding is limited to idle players not bound to an alliance.

Coordinated raids are to be given priority. Notice will be given for when you should have vacant fleet slots and fuel availiable.

Help especially new players with tips and maybe some resources if you have spare.

If your actions disrupt diplomacy with other alliances then you will be expected to promptly pay any settlement reached to preserve relations.

The management of 6 reserve the right to remove members from the alliance for even looking at them funny. Depending on the severity of the look, a warning may be sufficient.

feel free to add or subtract anything

Shall i start searching for new members? I got a couple of weak factions near me, that i could try to get to us, and also a few players that might be interested also.

Some push in materials would maybe be necessary, but i can probably acomodate that. What you guys think? Stay low profile or start growing numbers already?

I 'may' start playing this since i was very much into EVE online years back (member of the biggest alliance in game) but it all just got too much what with the whole galaxy trying to kill you so i quit.

Convince me to play this.

As in all space theme RPGs you start small, only one planet no ships, and start growing more planets, more technology and more ships.
In the meanwhile you get raped by alot of people and are in a constant dispair for resources, forcing to try and rape others..
Yeah its also loads of fun.
Its time consuming, but you can program raids and not even be there since you can change fleets speed for it to take, lets say 6 hours to get to the objective, in theory you could plan in the day before and set the fleet to arrive there in the day after.
No excuses in this one when we start raiding :)

Another handy feature of fleet cntrol is ACS - one of us initiates their raid by sending their fleet off to a target and then invites others to join.

When a player receives the invite he simply selects what ships he'd like to send and off they fly to join the battlegroup who slows down to wait for them.

However the target will receive a message through espionage informing them of the incomming raid party and an eta of their arrival. However over time you can get a good idea of when your mak will be offline and organise the attack during that time.

All this would really require is to ask participants to log on briefly during a deveral hour window and send some ships.

For recruiting, probably not a need to actively recruit - most players will join a large strong alliance for protection. On the other hand, humour whoever you come accross and sure, if they'd like to be part of something big right from the start then welcome aboard!
